TDP stands for "Teding Diancibo Pu" and it means electromagnetic spectrum lamp.
TDP Lamps are also known as Far Infrared Mineral Energizer Lamps.
They have been used for many years in alternative/ healing practices and have been called the Miracle Lamp.
How TDP lamps work
TDP Lamps use a heat treated black clay coated plate that consists of 33 to 43 mineral elements. These elements are thought to be essential to the human body. The lamp activates the plate by using a heating element. The heated ceramic plate emits an unique spectrum of electromagnetic waves in the infrared range of 2 to 25 microns, which is compatible with the bio-spectrum waves released by the human body. This allows maximum absorption into the body tissues. The absorbed energy promotes microcirculation and metabolism, strengthens the immune system and alleviates pain.
Benefits of using TDP lamps
- Dilating blood vessels and increasing blood flow and oxygen saturation
- Accelerating the decomposition of unstable cells
- Enhancing white blood cell function, increasing immune response
- Stimulating the hypothalamus, which controls the production of neurochemicals, which control sleep, mood, pain, and blood pressure
TDP lamps are widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with acupuncture. When used with acupuncture treatment it is often applied over the area where acupuncture needles are inserted in order to provide more intense stimulation of the area and also as a method to gently and comfortably warm the acupuncture needles, or as a substitute for moxibustion.
Origin of the TDP lamp
The Miracle Lamp has been invented in China in the early 1970's. It has been noticed that the workers of a century-old ceramic factory in central China never complained of arthritis and other work-related pains despite of the intense physical working enviroment. A team of scientists investigated the phenomenon and as a result developed the TDP lamp. The Miracle Lamp was introduced into clinics around the world including Japan, Hong-Kong, Korea, Europe, Australia and North America and millions of patients have been safely treated due to its simplicity and flexibility. In 1988 the device was cleared by the FDA for use in the United States and since then has been used by doctors to treat patients with promising results.
